Entre los contenidos del currículum de Primaria está el sistema locomotor. Aprender los nombres de los huesos… ¿Puede haber algo más aburrido?
Pues no tiene por qué serlo. A mis alumnos les gusta este tema porque para trabajarlo de una forma más lúdica solemos aprovechar HALLOWEEN.
¿Cómo? Haciendo la decoración para celebrar esta fiesta.
Así trabajamos:
-Ciencias naturales: sistema locomotor, concretamente el sistema óseo.
-Plástica: elaboramos decoración para el pasillo del cole para Halloween.
-Opcionalmente: Interculturalidad. ¿Cómo se celebra Halloween en México?
Empezamos unas semanas antes, dependiendo de cuántas sesiones entre plástica y ciencias naturales podemos dedicar a este pequeño proyecto.
Materiales que necesitaremos:
- Papel continuo marrón (lo más barato y que siempre hay en el colegio)
- Ceras blancas
- Lápices y gomas
- Libros con el dibujo del sistema óseo.
- Un modelo de plástico de esqueleto humano.
Trabajaremos en grupos de 3 o 4. En mi caso son grupos cooperativos, estables y heterogéneos.
1. Sesión de plástica
-Extendemos papel continuo en el suelo.
-Uno de los niños del grupo se tumba, en una posición que finge el movimiento. Todas sus articulaciones deben estar dobladas. Esto es importante porque ayudará a entender cómo funcionan nuestras articulaciones. No os imagináis cuantos huesos doblados he visto (dibujados por los alumnos). Eso indica que para algunos niños esta noción no es tan sencilla como nos podría parecer.
-Dibujamos el contorno de nuestro modelo.
2. Sesión de ciencias naturales
-Cada grupo rellena el contorno del cuerpo de su compañero con los dibujos de los huesos.
Nos fijamos en el esqueleto por un lado y en las ilustraciones del libro por el otro.
Tenemos que calcular el tamaño de los huesos y colocar los huesos en el lugar adecuado.
Nos fijamos en las articulaciones.
3. Sesión de ciencias naturales
-Escribimos con un lápiz los nombres de los huesos. Si estamos en clase bilingüe, lo hacemos en dos idiomas: en inglés y en castellano.
4. Sesión de plástica
Pintamos los huesos con ceras blancas.
Borramos el contorno si queremos que nuestros esqueletos tengan un aspecto más natural.
Es una actividad súper sencilla, los alumnos copian los nombres de los huesos, pero también:
-los ven en diferentes contextos (libros, esqueleto de plástico, modelo en movimiento)
-los sitúan dentro del contorno del cuerpo. ¿Dónde va el húmero?
-Tienen que evaluar si los huesos están en el lugar correcto, con lo cual repiten lo mismo varias veces, ven los mismos contenidos varias veces y los memorizan o por lo menos se familiarizan con ellos sin apenas esfuerzo,.
-aprenden en un contexto social
-y con un fin: decorar los pasillos o las paredes de clase para una fiesta que les gusta mucho.
– cometen errores que les hacen acordarse de que:
- Los huesos no se doblan.
- Cómo son las articulaciones
- Nuestro antebrazo tiene dos huesos.
- Lo mismo nuestra pantorrilla
- Tenemos un montón de vértebras.
- Además:
-Hablamos de Halloween. Tocamos el difícil tema de la muerte.
-Vemos un vídeo sobre cómo se celebra en México.
-Elaboramos elementos decorativos: guirnaldas de flores.
-Decoramos el pasillo del cole con nuestros esqueletos.
